Serial Number
Four. The font type of all serial numbers is the same with reduction in size in the lower two serial number.
Watermark
Wavy lines within a wavy rectangular panel. INDIA in centre and 5 RUPEES 5 below. The alphabet denoting the plate number on lower left, week and year of manufacturer’s code in two digits in lower middle and lower right respectively.
Even though universalised, the circle initials continued to be printed.
Note
- The names of the Issuing Circles are withdrawn and replaced by their initial C for Calcutta; B for Bombay; M for Madras; L for Lahore; K for Kurrachee; A for Cawnpore and R for Rangoon on either side of the date.
- Change in promise text “At any office of issue” added after ‘on demand’ and ‘The sum of Rupees Five’ as ‘Five Rupees’ earlier.
