Four. The font type of all serial numbers is the same with reduction in size in the lower two serial numbers.
Watermark
Wavy lines within a wavy rectangular panel. INDIA in centre and 5 RUPEES 5 below. The alphabet denoting the plate number on lower left, week and year of manufacturer’s code in two digits in lower middle and lower right respectively.
Note
- In many notes of Lahore circle there is a single numeral overprinted in red colour beside the date.
- The names of the Issuing Circles are withdrawn and replaced by their initial C for Calcutta; B for Bombay; M for Madras; L for Lahore; K for Kurrachee and A for Allahabad and later for Cawnpore on either side of the date
