Watermark
Type1: Wavy lines within a wavy rectangular panel. INDIA in centre and GOVERNMENT OF INDIA below. Vertical RUPEES inverted on either side. Plate number in an alphabet in lower left and week and year of manufacture in four digits on lower right.
Type2: Same as Type 1 except ‘INDIA’ replaced by ‘1000’ from 1909.
Note
This note D41 83563 even though dated 30th April 1894 has all the characteristics of the second issue which was introduced in 1909 for all denominations. Including change in watermark and 4 serial numbers. The mould paper is also dated October 1905. It is a perfect example of the printed date being frozen till the entire series of 100,000 notes having the same frozen date being complete.
