- Satyameva Jayate added below Ashoka Pillar in 1988.
- In view of the short life in circulation and higher cost of production. The printing of Rupees 5 Notes was suspended from March 1994 upto April 2001.
- Notes of this type with signature of Bimal Jalan were released together with the Mahatma Gandhi portrait series in May 2001.
