Same as Type 6.9.5 except a 3 mm wide security thread with colour shift from green to blue when viewed from different angles. The security thread when viewed from reverse appears as a continuous line. 1000 added to left of Mahatma Gandhi and five horizontal bands in the centre in watermark. New front to back see through register above Ashoka Pillar reads 1000 when viewed against light. Colour of fonts changed to brown and year of issue added on reverse. Size reduced for 1000 on obverse in Central Denomination Panel.
